Project for the improvement of the situation in the laboratory.
Many gadgets in the laboratory are outdated. Partly, necessary devices are missing at all. We decided to buy new ones within the scope of the 5-year-plan drawn up by the management for the development of the hospital.
Last autumn we placed a blood count device (Sysmex KX-21N of Etcom Comp., costs: € 13.500.--) at the laboratory’s disposal.
In May 2008 a blood chemistry device (Vitros DT 60II, from Swiss Lab System Comp., costs: € 10.500.--) has been delivered.
The personnel has been meticulously trained how to handle these devices.
Next, microscopes would urgently be needed.

Project for the improvement of the situation in the X-ray department
Until June 2008 X-ray pictures have been developed by hand. This is not only time-consuming and complicated. The personnel is also strained because poisonous vapours are generated and the hands are harmed by the chemical substances. Besides, the quality of the pictures is highly inconstant.
Atti Pahl has organized an automatic Agfa processor. Admittedly, it is second-hand but has thoroughly been overhauled and will certainly serve well for many years.

The decrepit chemistry tank had to be replaced by a modern X-ray picture processor
